The Baroque Dance Workshop for Musicians will introduce the history and evolution of baroque dances, its social significance, and the importance of these court dances in composers' instrumental suites, for example, J. S. Bach's French Suites for the Keyboard and Telemann's Orchestral Suites. The participants will try out some basic baroque dance steps, as well as “decoding” the dance notation of a baroque minuet. We will also invite volunteers to play music they have learned or are learning.
 Through this workshop, the participants will explore the tactile aspect of baroque dances they play not just through the instrument (aurally), but also physically.
